Efficient implementation
MCGlobal completed the entire scoping and CMMS implementation process in under three months
Woodside’s Subsea and Pipeline division managed the service, maintenance, and long-term preservation of equipment across the company’s extensive interests off the North-West Shelf of Australia. The division needed a system to control and monitor equipment condition and readiness across three distinct operational phases — Demobilisation, on-site storage, and Mobilisation.
Building that system internally was considered and quickly ruled out. The costs were too high, the timeline too long, and the outcome too uncertain. Instead, Woodside needed an experienced CMMS implementation partner who could deliver a complete, web-based solution that both staff and contractors could operate, and that could expand to other departments as the business grew.
MCGlobal’s implementation consultants brought the engineering background and oil and gas industry knowledge needed to hit the ground running. Rather than asking Woodside to adapt their processes to fit a system, MCGlobal adapted the solution to fit how Woodside actually worked. The team listened first, presented options, and only moved to implementation once the right approach had been agreed.
Throughout the project, MCGlobal also planned ahead for growth. The solution was built to accommodate future expansion to other Woodside divisions, seamlessly, cost-effectively, and without disrupting what was already in place.
“It was refreshing to see the flexibility and pragmatism from a vendor who was willing to accommodate change, and operate in an environment where we didn’t fully know what we wanted until we saw the system evolving.”
