MCGlobal Solutions proudly supports the Defence Reserves

It was a pleasure for MCGlobal Solutions Managing Director Steve Martin, and his wife Caroline Martin, to attend the Defence Reserves Support Awards Party.

The Australian Light Horse, both past and present, performed a military demonstration at the event.

There was a wonderful display of historical wall art depicting ‘The Light Horse’ by painters Basil and Wendy Gay, along with champagne and canapés. Performances included a highly moving live poetry by Russell Plunkett based around the paintings, including the famous Australian Poem, ‘The Horse Stayed Behind’.

Special Guests were present. Governor of Queensland, His Excellency the Honorable Paul de Jersey AC, and Ian Stewart, Commissioner of the Queensland Police Service.

Lance Corporal Ed Howson, a special guest speaker, gave an interesting perspective on the necessity for Reserves on deployment and showed clips from his successful film ‘Sentenia: Inside Afghanistan’ that demonstrated the incredible bravery and courage these men showed.

Throughout the evening they meet some remarkable people from the Australian Defence Forces.
